Today I was working on my monthly email newsletter, and I wanted to feature one of my AMAZING partners. My partners are organizations and facilities who share The Funding Guide for Children with Disabilities with the families that they serve. These families use the process and the list of funders in my book to access money for items their loved ones need.

Advocate Children’s Hospital is one of the largest network providers of pediatric services in Illinois and among the top 10 in the nation. They have been awarded the highest level of specialized pediatric critical care and emergency services to meet the unique needs of pediatric patients.

They also received the Best Children’s Hospitals recognition by U.S News and World Reports who ranks them as one of the top 25 pediatric cardiology and cardiac surgery programs, in addition to neonatology.

They are a major referral center for infants and children. Their two main campuses in Oak Lawn and Park Ridge combine some of the country’s most respected medical talent with exceptional and compassionate care, making Advocate a premier pediatric provider in the Midwest. They are one of the highest level trauma centers in Chicago and as a result, they treat some of the most serious patients.

Whenever I think about Advocate Children’s Hospital I have to talk about my contact at the hospital – Kathleen Brummet – who is truly a great friend of mine. Kathleen is the Education Specialist in Pediatric Rehabilitation and Development for the hospital.

I met Kathi back in 2011 when her department had their first bike day. I was there with my family’s nonprofit, Project Mobility. We brought a trailer full of adaptive bikes and kids that had been patients at the hospital were able to ride bikes for the day. This is when I met Kathi, we hit it off …

She told me the stories of a few of the kids and talked about how she wanted to help them get their very own adaptive bikes – so doing what I do best, I set out to help her help these kids! We will be sharing some of those stories in upcoming posts, so stay tuned!

I received a few great letters from Kathi over the years as more kids got bikes. Here is one of my favorites, THANKS KATHI, she is an amazing person she is always thinking of helping the kids whenever she can!
