Whether you receive funding or not, send a Thank You Letter!
You must send a Thank You Letter to the funder! No matter what!
If they don’t choose your child or the type of funding that you needed. The funder will remember that thank you letter the next time you apply.
If they do fund you it is even more important to send that thank you!
I can’t tell you how many times I have heard from funders that they never got a thank you letter from an applicant! They understand that the families are really busy and often overwhelmed, but the thank you is not for the funding organization – they want to give the thank you letter to the donors who give the money that they then distribute to people like you. This is why it is SO IMPORTANT to send the thank you letter!
Not only should you send a thank you, but you should always include a picture of your child with the item that the organization funded you for!
